MAMAHOOD LOSS SUPPORT MEETUPS

A gentle space for mothers whose stories include loss.

There are parts of motherhood that aren’t often spoken out loud — but are carried quietly, deeply,
every day.

At Mamahood, we believe those experiences deserve space, too.

Our Loss Support Meetups are peer-led gatherings for mothers who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss and are looking for connection with others who understand.

Whether your loss was recent, many years ago, early in pregnancy, or difficult to name, you are welcome here.

Who are these meetups for?

These gatherings are open to mothers who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss, including:

  • Miscarriage

  • Chemical pregnancy

  • Stillbirth

  • TFMR (termination for medical reasons)

  • Infant loss

  • Other experiences of pregnancy or infant loss

You do not need to be newly grieving to attend. Many women carry these experiences for years, often without having had a space to process them alongside others who understand.

If your motherhood story includes loss, this space is for you.

A few things to know:

Meetups are peer-led by Mamahood volunteers.

All gatherings are adult-only spaces.

You are welcome whether your loss was recent or long ago.

There is no cost to attend.

There is no commitment to attend regularly. You may attend as often or as little as feels supportive.

What can I expect?

Our Loss Support Meetups are gentle, conversational, and rooted in connection.

These meetups are designed to offer opportunities to gather with fellow mamas who understand the complicated weight of grief, remembrance, and carrying love for a child they hold close in their hearts.

These are not therapy sessions or clinical support groups. They are peer-led by Mamahood community members who have been through similar experiences.

We know walking into something like this for the first time can feel hard. Come as you are. There is no expectation to share. No judgment or pressure to explain. You are welcome to sit quietly & listen.

Some women come ready to talk. Others simply want to be in a room where they don't have to pretend. Both are welcome.

Somehow, amongst the heaviness, the aching hearts, and the tears, coming together at this Mamahood meetup created a small glimmer of something beautiful, like a rainbow after a storm, that even in the most unimaginable tragedy, there is still love, community, and hope.

At the heart of Mamahood is the belief that motherhood was never meant to be done alone. That includes the parts of motherhood that are often unseen.

If this feels like something you've been needing, we would be honored to welcome you.
