MAMAHOOD BIG/LITTLE PROGRAM

An invitation for Mamahood alumni & toddler moms

Motherhood doesn’t come with a manual, but thankfully, it does come with community. At Mamahood, we know the early days, months, and years of parenting can be overwhelming — but we also know how powerful it is to have someone who truly gets it.

That’s why we’re launching the Mamahood Big/Little Program — a mentorship initiative that connects moms a little further along in their journey (Bigs) with newer moms (Littles) who are navigating those first steps.

As a Big, you won’t have all the answers (and that’s okay!). Your role isn’t to be an expert — it’s to be a listening ear, a reassuring voice, and a source of encouragement. Maybe you’ll share tips that helped you

survive sleepless nights, offer perspective on the ups and downs of toddlerhood, or simply remind another mom that she’s doing an incredible job.

This is your chance to give back, to strengthen the village that supported you through your own first year, and to be a part of something deeply meaningful. By showing up with kindness and understanding, you’ll help make motherhood feel a little less overwhelming — and a lot more connected.

  • At Mamahood, we are all about building authentic connections and lasting friendships. To begin building a connection with your Little, we encourage you to start out by meeting up in person. From there, we invite you to continue to build the relationship through texts, coffee dates, stroller walks, playdates — whatever you want! The most important thing is that you get to know each other in a meaningful way, and create space for real talk. The goal is for your Little to see you as a source of support when she needs it.

  • Motherhood is busy — we get it! We recommend meeting up with your Little about once a month if possible, and offering support, encouragement, or just a friendly “hey how’s it going” via text in between. The cadence is up to you and your Little, but it’ll be your responsibility as the Big to make sure you’re reaching out and building that connection.

  • We will do our best to take into account your location and your schedule (for example: pairing moms with or without daytime availability). Regardless of who you’re matched with, we know that the Mamahood community brings together moms who are eager to connect on a deeper level, and that will create a beautiful foundation for your pairing.

  • FAQS

    Our program coordinator, Eleni, is here to support you in your role as a Big! She’s always happy to share ideas, and will be sending a monthly email to Bigs with fun meetup spots, conversation topics, and so on. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!

  • You know we’re all about building lasting connections here! The way we see it, once you’re someone’s Big, you’re always their Big! We know that schedules and priorities fluctuate through different seasons of life and motherhood, so you may not meet for coffee every month for the next 2 years (oh gosh, what is life in 2 years?!) — and that’s okay. The idea is to be another person in your Little’s life who she can lean on. Your Little may even become a Big herself once she reaches the toddler stage! But she’ll know that you’re someone she can reach out to when she needs a bit of advice or a listening ear.

  • While Mamahood serves the greater Cleveland area, our community is primarily rooted on the east and west sides (Heights & Lakewood areas). If you are outside these regions, you are still welcome to request to participate, just please know that we may have a lower probability of finding a match for you.

  • Our Spring Enrollment period is now open through March 20th, 2026. We will do our best to pair you, based on availability of Littles. We’ll reach out to introduce our Spring matches on April 1st!
